Accidental mistake - what can I do?

Due to the nature of the interface requiring me to drag pieces to where I want to move them, I accidentally moved a Bishop one square short of where I intended to move it. This absolutely ruined the game I was playing as it hung the Bishop. It was a move that nobody would have played in a serious game, yet the site just accepted my move.

Is there a way to disable this kind of thing?

That is what's known as a "mouse slip".

You can change your settings so you don't have to drag pieces.

Settings > Board & Pieces > Move Method > Click Squares.

Thank you for this helpful reply. I've now changed this.

Also instead of dragging with the piece as long as you click it and click your intended square you should be able to stop doing this often

In the settings you can choose if you want to confirm every move you do or simply do a move without confirming it

Just click the squares without dragging?

You could try sending a message and asking for a draw and some trusting good sports might do it (a friend in an OTB game would) but, really, I’d say suck it up.
