You use ad blocking software not only to block ads on chess.com but everywhere else on the internet.
Chess.com receives money for placing ads no matter if your software blocks them or not

I pay top rate and am verified. I do think you should let the ads run on sites as long as they are not mega intrusive. Stuff has to be paid for!

gold membership is less than £4 per month even a young child could afford that ,not paying is just cheap skate , I use add blocker but still pay for gold .
