i don't mind the ads themselves (no sound on my computer), but on principle i think it's wrong. there's a host of people who would pay to put up ads on chess.com-- why put up the obvious scams?

Erik has already posted on this thread several times. If you post the URL of the adverts in question, he should be able to eliminate them. From reading the thread, it looks like this will be a constant battle between the staff and the people making the adverts- but one worth fighting.
