adults only groups/clubs/teams

What does anyone think of a group or team etc that is specifically for over 25 years old? This would be a group that COULD contain language that isnt suitable for the younger members of the site!!

I dunno if this would be at all possible (due to possible legal implecations) but i would just like to hear the views of the general public on this subject :)

Hydroxide

I think an "adults only" chess group would be less about chess and more about.. well "adults only" stuff :p

This is not a cyber sex site.

You'd probably need to password it somehow.  But, I wouldn't mind a few F-Bombs now and again.

im not saying that it is a cyber sex site i am saying adults who want to play chess without the boundaries of having to keep their language pg

yes or make it invitation only ... iv come across groups like that where only invites will be let in

Housewrecker

Have you ever played live chess? There is nothing pg about any of the language on the group chat window. I wish there was a way to just keep it turned off.

Knightly

Not a good idea. People should never be free to use vulgar language, or be encouraged to do so.

yes i have been into live chess and i got booted from there simply for blowing 3 kisses to my boyfriend so wouldnt u agree that a group / team etc would be of benefit to the greater public that dont wish to see it ??

uritbon

I proclaim that I am over 21 years old!

not.

doesn't sound like a great idea, a team built in order to talk dirty in the forums?! weird, there is always the private chat in livechess, and you can talk to your friends any way you like in privacy.

chess.com is for chess, if you want to talk dirty while playing chess you can chose from the above, if you only want to talk dirty go to some other place.

Silly idea, i doubt that you were ever booted for that since they never booted people who did a lot worse. Perhaps it was an accident.  Also Donna, why would you want your name associated with what would become www.chess.com/xxx?

sounds to me like u would shoot someone simply for telling u to f*** off ... everyone has the right to talk exactly how they want ... groups on here for the most part r discouraged from using foul language and while u r a member of that group u agree to abide by these rules otherwise face getting booted off the said group yes? i am talking about a place ... if for lack of a better word ... a social place where u r not going to be penalised for occasionally telling someone f*** off ... what happens if u go to a pub or a football match??? u hear swearing at the players the referee etc the manager for making a bad decision ?????

i sent my bf xxx and was booted for that ... simply to me and 1000's of others would be a case of 3 kisses not something else and besides it wouldnt be called that i am merely asking for opinions

kenmack

Sounds fun, send me an invite. byear=1982

'Vulgar' language is only frowned upon because of people like you.  If it is used intelligently, there should be no problem with it, just like any of the other words that compliment and add to the English language.

neversink

there is no need for such a group on this site!!!!! Please indulge your healthy adult fantasies elsewhere and come back to chess.com to play chess... How in the world could the group guarantee that a minor wouldn't lie about their age to become a member of this group.... I have two nine-year-old daughters {yes, twins} who I don't want tempted by such a group... It is very hard to find sites that are safe for children... Let's try to keep this site relevant and not turn it into Yahoo chess....

Mm40

http://www.chess.com/groups/view/open-discussion is uncensored discussion. If you want, I can create a group and give the control to you. If so, leave me a message.

wow does everyone get the impression i want to run a sex group here????? i am talking about a place where adults can relax and chat freely here ... r u trying to tell me that ur girls will be tempted to go in a pub coz of the language?? chess will be played against other teams and of course games will not be tolerated to have such language but i am talking about a group of people that can just simply relax ... talking as they wish to ... if such a group WAS created then it would HAVE to be by invite only and those players that we KNOW r over 25 would only be allowed in

perp124

There should be an R rated group where it is mandatory to curse, or you get booted.
