I'd rather have a smaller but active group that participates, personally.

I'd prefer quality over quantity, but maybe some admins think that if they enlist enough members they'll eventually end up with some worthwhile members.
I opt for quality over quantity. I've noticed that some larger groups have a handful of members doing all the posting. I try to get involved with groups only if I'm willing to do something such as contribute good posts. Now, I'll be the first to admit that I cannot always contribute to every group on a regular basis, but I try.
With the Super Administrator's crystal ball, but you have to wear a three foot tall magic hat to make it work. You could also try the Karate Kid method: "log on, log off, log on, log off..." This is what you get for inviting me into your groups BadGambit!
It seems that some group admins only care about the member count when inviting people, rather than thinking about who would contribute to the group. They don't care about them contributing to the group, as long as they co tribute to the member count, it's okay. What are your thouguts on this?
I agree with you, to the extent that if I ran a group I would run it in the manner you describe. But hey, everybody is free to make their groups however they want. If you want to target only people rated 1600-1700 living in Romania, then you can do it. If you want to target only titled players rated above 2300, you can do that too.
