...to the Grand Opening to the new and Official Chess.com/TV Group!

This group began to take shape just a a few short weeks ago, and it has taken a lot of work by a lot of great, hardworking people to get to this point in our construction. This group is open to ALL Members of Chess.com, so no matter what your membership level, you can still get the Premium content that is being discussed and talked about on the 4 weekly shows: Your Games Analyzed, The Panda and Poet Show, Pardon Our Blunders, and finally, Chess Improv.

Most, if not all of the topics discussed on these shows will be discussed even more in depth in our forums, where you can get show recaps, give suggestions to the Hosts of the shows through our Suggestion Boxes, and be able to interact with the hosts on a more personal level. We even have at this time a few special members of the group, but I think I might want to wait a little while before releasing these names, just to build up the anticipation. This is a very important group to us and to everyone here at Chess.com, even if you are not a loyal or even weekly participant of any or all of the shows. It is a "one stop shop" experience for anyone who wants to learn and know more about Chess.com/TV.

Currently, we have an invite list now with 26 names on it, there are only 4 spaces left to get on that 1st page of the "Pre-Launch" list. These members will have early access to the group, before we go public just two short weeks from today, that is, of course, if they accept the invite before the doors blow open like a Black Friday at Target. Remember, only 30 invites get to go out in a span of 24 hours for each group. After that initial 24 hours is over, another 30 names will be added to the list if we get that many before we go public.

Also, on December 15th, Chess.com/TV, will be having a very special "Pardon Our Blunders" which will be open to ALL MEMBERS, with some very special guests dropping by to celebrate the Grand Opening of this group. So you see everyone, this is going to be a very big event. And we will keep you updated next week on the progress and readiness of this new group to open the doors to the public.

So remember, send me--ChessMarkstheSpot--a message but do not apply as you will be turned down because we are not ready to open. Your name will be put on our lists and a couple of days before launch, the lucky names will be put into our little invite mailman and be sent off, so if you want to be one of the early birds, make your move now.  Cool

   13 Days and counting down...

David, neither can I. With your involvement along with Danny making it official, with Erik on board as well, Hammer, Shanky, Poet, Panda and Elliott, this group is going to rock the roof off of this site.

You hear this out there people?  This is not any ordinary TV fan group, this is the real deal. We're at 13 days and counting. And even if you're not a Premium Member, you can get Premium content in this group. We have been hard at work day and night trying to put this puppy together for the community. We hope that anyone interested or even merely curious will share this grand opening event with us and become part of one of the most entertaining and informational groups on this site. Cool

You're making quite a big deal about this group. Tongue out

Upabushtrack

You mean we get to pester.... I mean bask in Eriks mere presence by joining this group?

It's what we want to do, is bring more attention to Chess.com/TV and how useful and informative, as well as entertaining it really is. Obviously, watching it or joining it is your prerogative, but yes, it's important to keep a buzz going about this. This is my way of keeping the thread active.  Smile

Hey, everyone :)

Just so you know---we ARE making a big deal out of this group because we think it's going to be great, and we've been putting tons of work into it to make it just that. But thinking this is somehow an "elite" group is totally wrong!!! First of all, as I've come to know even better---the administration on Chess.com is not elitist at all. Working with them on this project has been a pleasure and ALL of us are excited about it. We REALLY think it's going to be a very fun and active group. What we're doing is simply trying to inform members about what the group is all about, to encourage you to join up, and most definitely SHOW UP FOR OUR "GRAND OPENING BASH!" THAT is going to be a lot of fun Laughing It's the members who will also make the group the fun place it has the potential of being. That's why we're doing this in the first place Cool

It's also important for us to make sure everyone is aware that this group is open to ALL members---not just platinum and diamond.

The doors aren't open yet, simply because we're going to make the launch "special" and that's scheduled for Dec. 15th. Because it's specifically for "Chess.com/TV", it's different than most other groups on the site. All the hosts are directly involved with the group, so it's going to be more interactive. There's going to be all kinds of info on the shows and the hosts, plus interesting forum chatting on all the shows and chess content. We'll also be coming up with other creative things to do.

So, it's up to the members whether or not they want to join. It doesn't cost anything and it's not selective as far as who joins---if you're interested in "All Things Chess.com/TV", this is where you'll find it: Chess.com/TV Public Profile

So, please don't misunderstand the "publicity" for the group----we want people to be aware and for the news of it to not get lost in the plethora of forum posts. We're REALLY hoping you join! Laughing

All the prep is almost done, and we have lots of good stuff lined up: all the recaps from the shows, personal interviews with our hosts, puzzles and lots of other amusing topics. Personally, I'm REALLY excited about the show next week, 'cause you never know who might show up! :D

We have 4 days left until our Grand Opening Bash. The doors will be opened Wednesday morning and the people whose names are on our preinvite list get a chance to learn there way around the group before we go Live!! It's not a competitive group in any way, it's just for those who are loyal to Chess.com/TV and for new members of the Premium levels looking for a little entertainment in between their chess studies. We hope to see you there!  Cool

The new Official Chess.com/TV Group opens up in just two short days. The pre-launch invites go out tonight giving those members about 36 hours to take a look around the group and get comfortable with it before we go public on Wednesday, December 15th. And remember, there will be a special Pardon our Blunders that day at 1 PM Pacific(GMT -8)  with special guest appearances. Even we don't know who is going to be there. It's sure to be a wonderful program, and it's open to ALL members of Chess.com. If you want in early, send me a message to be put on the pre-launch invite list. Cool
