The site held a Black Friday special three-month trial deal but I don't believe I have ever seen a discount offer ran, at least not anything that was widespread.

Ah darn, oh well, thanks for info. I know it isn't worth complaining about, but £110 is really expensive.
I like your profile. It shows that you have been working on the puzzles a little. You get five puzzles a day. You have been playing a lot of games in three time controls. Your graphs show you are clearly not cheating just settling into your ELO. Do more puzzles and lessons to show us that you will use a membership. There are members here that will gift you a membership. They check profiles to gauge your potential. Yours is a good profile. Work on it some more and start a thread asking for someone to gift you a membership. There will be trolls on the thread but somebody will come through for you when they see how hard you have been trying. Think of it as applying for a scholarship.
Well, you used to get five puzzles a day. Sometime in 2020 or 2021 they changed it so any accounts made past that point get 3 puzzles a day instead of 5. But I guess that's not so bad, as you can just do puzzles on Lichess or something if you want more than 3 per day.

Thanks, just for the lovely comment that made my day. I really appreciate the encouragement too! Good point(s) on daily puzzles, I was still just getting into the swing of the app really. I play pc a lot and managed to beat 1200 a couple of times; nice to get a couple of flukes! Haha
