I've played a few greeter games and always try to be friendly. I've made a few online friends through greeter games who I keep in occasional contact with.
A lot of folk don't understand the difference between turn-based and live chess. When they get impatient I explain that we have 3 days to move and then the most impatient ones often leave the game. After the first rude or annoying comment I'll try to explain the ethos of the site - any more rudeness and I'll ignore the chat.
I never use DBs, books or analysis board in greeter games and always play them much faster than my normal online games and have had one or two nightmares as a result!
