Block You!

Hey Chessters:

I hope I'm posting in the right forum.

Is there a way to block a player from playing me?  If I run into a potty mouth, or someone who leaves the game when in a lost position and lets the clock run down, or, etc. etc. I would like to have the systemic ability to never play them again without having to remember their screen name.  Can it be done?

You can block them from regular games, but if they're playing in a tourney you're in, you'll still have to play em even if they are blocked.

Thanks all, as usual I found the answer surfing between games......

Well, I can see that everyone else answered your question, but I think this forum post should go in the Help and Support forum section.

I think in live chess a blocked player can still accept your challenge too...then you can abort the game of course, and then you are flagged by the software as an "abort abuser."

It looks like that shouldn't be a problem.  From the "help" page:

Once blocked, a member cannot do any of the following:

  • post notes to your account
  • send you messages,
  • accept your game seeks
  • be auto-matched with you in open seeks
  • join tournaments that you are running
  • post in content that you created
