Agree that it would be fun to see a team put up similiar numbers, if not better, in a season; however, the chances of this happening -- especially with the league growing in popularity and average team strength each year -- are slim to none. Which means, as surprisng as it sounds: We may have just witnessed the best performance by any USCL team EVER! Or ever again... How can anything else but the best record of all time be used to judge who the best team of all time was???

Pardon Our Blunders Show Review: Dec 1, 2010

Welcome to the weekly review of Pardon Our Blunders. Every week our Hosts cover varied topics—all chess-related. As regular viewers know, their coverage normally leads to some very interesting and entertaining banter. Here’s a rundown of this week’s Topic #4:
Are this year’s New England Nor’Easters the best team in the history of the U.S.C.L.?
This year’s 2010 U.S.C.L. Nor’Easters went through the entire year, counting the playoffs--undefeated--only drawing two matches during the regular season.
David said there are at least a half dozen teams that could’ve beat New England, but Danny fired back saying they didn’t, so it didn’t matter this year. On paper Danny said that a lot of teams looked better than New England. The big question here is whether any other U.S.C.L. team will go undefeated ever again, or perhaps, pushing the envelope here, whether a team will ever again, during regular season and playoffs, not even draw a match, but win every game??
David said that will never happen. Danny said this year’s New England team was the best team in the history up to this point in the U.S.C.L. He also said that the U.S.C.L. is going to be the major event in this country in a few years. Danny said this particular team is the best ever in the U.S.C.L.
Especially for those of you who follow the U.S.C.L., what do you think about this?
