I have been to a lot of chess tournyments  over the years and one thing that I have notice seems like some one is always  looking for a board and a clock, and a lot of times it would always seem to be boards 1 and 2  sometimes other people

how come when players come to a chess match they forget to bring  their board and clock? are they that cheap to not buy there own stuff?

This varies greatly from one venue to another. My experience would be just about the opposite: nearly everyone had his/her own equipment and the issue would be whose to use (though rules speak clearly to that). Your experience is interesting.

Is it possible that non-Americans are involved? Here in Europe we never (not in my experience, anyway) use our own equipment, it's always laid on by the tournament organiser.
