Boxbox bot tough?

I would agree, I find boxbox much harder to defeat than Antonio (1500). But that's why I play this bot; it gives me incredible games. It found a 10-move sequence that refuted both a queen and a knight sacrifice and lead to a dead draw.
TL;DR the bot is definitely much higher than 1400.

Agree. I've been playing boxbox bot, but can't win. I beat antonio 1500, Isabel 1600 & JackoLanternBot(1600) back in halloween season, but still cannot beat boxbox after like 5 attempts in black/white. And so far do not see boxbox making random blunders, so it seems like a good bot to practice.

Certainly not a perfect game, and boxbox put up a pretty good fight until move 29. Game Review estimates the bot's ELO at 1500, so there may be some truth to it being higher rated than 1400.

I think boxbox bot's weakness is in the endgame. I find that if I can take him there, then I have a good chance of winning. My wins against him are all long games, 50+ moves. But still, my problem is that I normally lose to him somewhere in the middlegame...
I just played a horrible, sloppy game against boxbox. Review says I had a back rank mate in 2 and I missed it and then blundered to give him the lead. He then blundered it back. My rating (white, London) was 1250 with boxbox (horiwitz defense) at 1050. So boxbox can have bad games, too. I'll try again later.

I am starting to beat boxbox regularly now, although it's always in the endgame. Here is my win with the London, which I don't normally play. He gave me a hard time most of the game, but blundered towards the end.

Boxbox is (no offense to people who haven't beaten him yet) kinda easy to play against. But I have to agree, he's a very good player and probably one of the best because he doesn't make REALLY noticeable blunders.
I played against him as white:

Black: 73.5
