btw: Can you give someone a game trophy after a realtime game?
Changed designs of Trophies!
Sort:
Each trophy now has a characteristic shape and they are beautiful.
3D border is definitely a problem as it is creating a white space but because they r more colorful so they r attractive too :-)

I love them! I always thought that many of the old trophies were a bit tacky, some of them having pixelation, and being of different styles at whatnot.
Love the improvement! :D
i think old ones were quite dull but improved ones are better :-)
i like them the way they are now !

I agree. The new trophies are much more consistent and have a stronger theme. However, the individual images are no longer as raw or edgy.
For instance, the images for the series: Knight Virtuoso, Bishop Commander, Lord of the Rook, Connoisseur of the Queen, etc. - were more easily recognisable (especially to an international audience) when derived from chess pieces. (The Bishop Commander resembles a postman!)
Mind you, some of the existing images were probably scanned - so those ones certainly weren't sharp!
When you can select from a billion Google images, you inevitably have access to a richer image set compared with the few thousand (if you're lucky) images in a clip art library.

Clip art is particularly effective for the fun trophies - which tend to be based on a simple concept (e.g. cookies, ice-cream, taco, birthday).
A simple image works less well for the game trophies - which tend to be based on compound concepts (e.g. you cleaned my clock, sunken ship, did you let me win?, board blindness) - often expressed in terms of an idiom.

The perspective that there are too many (human) figures in the new trophy images is interesting!
As for the issue of their smallish size, we can (and will) fix that soon - without having to get new images.
