Hi ibiwisi, I will also be in Portland soon and saw your post.... I found an answer for you on the Portland Chess Website: Carl Haessler - Chess Master in the Portland area who gives Chess Lessons. ssmith6154@aol.com Hope this helps.
There website is: http://www.pdxchess.com/default.aspx?TabID=1
I'm not sure where to post this message, so please forgive me for posting it more than once. I'll be in Portland, Oregon for a few days, and I'd like to take a couple of one-on-one chess lessons while I'm there FYI, my USCF rating is around 1600, headed for 2400. (OK, just kidding about the "headed for 2400" part, but I _am_ intersted in improving my game.) Any recommendations for a chess coach/tutor in Portland who's willing/available to teach for just a few hours?
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.
