Since you've shared an image containing text, I'll first extract its content and then proceed to Hi there,
I understand your frustration regarding the chess.com forums and the nature of the discussions, but I think this situation can be approached more constructively.
1. Engaging Beginners Positively: Many beginners may lack understanding or nuance in their communication, but they join forums hoping to learn and improve. Instead of viewing their comments as rude or meaningless, consider responding patiently or offering a helpful resource. For example, the user who asked about improving their rapid rating could benefit from general improvement advice, such as studying opening principles or focusing on endgames.
2. Improving Forum Quality: While some forum topics stray far from productive chess discussions, labelling beginner posts as "meaningless" might discourage participation. Perhaps suggesting clearer forum guidelines or starting threads on specific learning topics could invite more thoughtful contributions.
3. Encouraging Pro-Level Discussions: If you want to elevate the conversation, why not lead by example? Create threads that delve into advanced strategies, share annotated games, or discuss complex positions. This might attract more experienced players and spark meaningful debates.
Ultimately, forums thrive on inclusivity and mutual respect. As someone with a high rating and expertise, your input could make a big difference in shaping a positive and educational environment for players at all levels.
I have observed the people who are active on chess.com forums are 90% beginners. there are very less players above even 1500.
and debate as if they are a grandmasters.
Yesterday I had posted a forum in which my first message was
(''I am rated 2600 in blitz and bullet on chess.com with a peak rating of 2700+ in both formats.I would love to help players to improve in every part of chess.
you can message on my chess.com profile I will try my best to answer your questions completely free.
you can ask any of the 3 very important questions to me.'')
and a 200 beginner posted his query over there
''I need help to improve my rapid ELO because it's just stuck in the 200s anything that you can help me to improve with?
and also posted a very rude comment after this
''I don't know if you can help because you said your a blitz and bullet player''
I replied ''
this I will take as a insult I am a all rounder player with rapid 2400 online and 2000 fide.
and I play blitz bullet online more.
this sentence is very rude and meaningless, but it is expected from a beginner.
So I will not answer your main question sorry.''
In most of the forums all beginners post meaningless topics and the chess part is missing because there is no any pro chess players.
I have observed the chess position forums are posted and debated the least and some rubbish topics like '' 1500 reasons why school sucks'' has 1000s of messages.
I think for a meaningful and for some chess learning we need pro players active on forums. and the beginners should not post their unwanted meaningless forums and debates here, and if they want to they should put them in the category of off topics.
