Chess.com keeps matching me almost only with players whose rank is higher than mine

Hello everyone,

Can anybody please explain me how the chess.com random matching algorithm works? Isn't it supposed to match you with players, on average, the same level as yours?

I started getting the impression that the probability to get matched with stronger players was, for me, higher than the opposite.
Today, I kept note of the situation. I played 22 bullet games:
- 1 was against an opponent whose score was basically the same as mine (something like 3 points lower);
- 3 were against weaker opponents;
- 18 were against stronger opponents (in some cases the difference was quite large).

In the settings, I found out that the challenges that "I send" can be received by players of any score.

Do I have to modify that option in order to balance the problem?
Evidently chess.com, despite the wide range possibility, doesn't match me with players who have completely different scores from mine, so why this tendency to match me with stronger players?

It pairs you with someone that is within your seek range that has your rating in their seek range. There are a couple of other, connection and sportsmanship related rules, but that it.

I have now noticed that the "search range" when I launch a game is +-100 points.

So things are even weirder now.
