Hi Chess.com Community! I've been working for almost a year on a Discord bot specifically to enhance chess communities on Discord and I'm finally starting to roll it out! Here's a peak at a one of the commands:

I'm aware of that, I've been an active member in that server for over a year. This is meant specifically for other servers: streamers, clubs, chess communities.

The bot in the Chess.com server is named Albert and nobody else can use it. That's why ChessData was made public for everyone to use now in their own servers.

Thanks! It's not right now because it's kind of a small fun personal project but maybe in the future I can open-source it and have the community contribute!

1. You can just paste your profile link yourself if you wanna show it to others.

2. How many people do you think will care about using this anyways? This is a chess site, that's a discord bot.

3. I've seen similar bots, why need this?

Thanks for your comment I'll try to answer as best I can.

1. Pasting a profile link does not show others your profile. They have to click through and leave Discord. If you participate in the Chess.com Discord server, you'll see the usefulness of displaying profiles in chat. The /profile command is also not the only functionality.

2. You would be surprised at how many people have added it already! It's already in 16 Discord servers and helps chess communities on Discord. Every chess streamer has a Discord server, just being able to help a fraction of those would be great! The bot was made specifically to work with this chess site, why not share it with this site's users?

3. Yes there are and they're cool too! I designed mine to be simple and not mess with specific server permissions like roles and message management. Other bots like Aqua (widely used) and Albert (Chess.com only) are very complex and require many more permissions to be used to their fullest potential. Also there is no need to add my bot at all, anyone is free to make their own decisions for their Discord servers. I'm simply sharing the uses of my bot and others can check it out and choose for themselves happy.png
