Chesstempo.com is good in tactics but chess mentor on this site is better.

I'm cheap (not really, just broke), so I use the tactics trainer at chesstempo.com, mainly because it's free. It has no limits for normal tactical problems, so I can do 50 a day if I feel like it, which for about two months was my daily minimum. It also has blitz mode, which is much like the tactics trainer here with a descending ratings adjustment for longer solve times; and it has endgame theory problems, which I absolutely love (but you only get limited use with a free account.)

In fact, the majority of what you get here for a gold membership you get just for registering at chesstempo. If I could play games there too, I'd probably come here far less often. Many of the things you have to pay for on this site should be free, and because of that (and the regular nag/beg messages from the site), I doubt I'll ever subscribe.

The thing that pisses me off most about chess.com: You need to subscribe to get access to your OWN game database. Seriously, f— you guys. In fact a case could be made that my games are my (and my opponent's) intellectual property, and that if anyone has the right to profit from them it's ME, not the website. That reason alone pretty much GUARANTEES I'll never have a stupid little symbol next to my name here.
