I wondered about this too.
Chrome browser Adobe Flash Player support ending!

I believe you need to download the PPAPI version of adobe flash.
https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/?no_redirect
Click Need Flash Player for a different computer
At the next screen, select Chromium PPAPI
This is what I get; "Your Google Chrome browser already includes Adobe® Flash® Player built-in. Google Chrome will automatically update when new versions of Flash Player are available."

meow
What I meant is that it seems newer versions of Google Chrome might not support Adobe Flash Player plugin at all!
As far as I know, you don't need flash for this site. Designers now should be working towards using html5 rather than flash, which uses a lot of system resources. Apple ditched flash, it looks like google will as well. There's no need to download something that you don't need.

chrome comes with its own flash player, pepperflash which is maintained by google. html5 has been standard for approximately two years and it still pains me that sites like chess24, facebook, BBC etc still use flash. I don't have flash on my browser which is chromium and I cannot say that I miss it.

I keep several browsers on my machine, Maxthon, Firefox, and even IE as well as Chrome in case I need them. Maxthon is faster than Chrome, but Chrome has features I like and some sites work better with some browsers but not others.

Well let's see how it's gonna be. I'll post the changes Chrome will have made once they roll out their new version which they claim won't be "killing" laptop batteries.

Useful but I'm still not sure if this site will work on Chrome if they stop allowing Adobe Flash or any other PPAPI ap. Would be more than helpful if someone identified as representing chess.com could give a definitive answer. Meantime I think I might check out Maxthon.

Flash deserves to die.
html5 is open code, and does all flash can do- and much, much more.
As a web developer, am in agreement with your sentiments.

Flash is used on chess.com only in the videos. Switching from that annoying SWplayer to something simpler and more useful should not be rocket science...
Thank you

Google finally made their move on the 1st Sept, 2015; http://thenextweb.com/apps/2015/09/01/adobe-flash-just-took-another-step-towards-death-thanks-to-google/
Chrome has already received more updates from v42 and is at version 45 as of today, 7th Sept

The computer opponent does not run in Chrome. The site needs to fix this. I am a paying member. I love this site, but it is falling behind. Example http://en.lichess.org/

You must be trying to use the computer in the regular Version 2 (V2) chess.com interface. I'm sure they won't be fixing it for V2, as the V2 computer requires Java, which none of the browsers support any longer.
However, the V3 computer will not require Java, so it should work. I'm told paying members can try out the not-quite-officially-released V3 interface now by clicking on some link near the bottom of the page.
Well, Chrome has been my favourite browser after I made the leap from Firefox almost 3 years ago.
I have seen posts on the internet a few weeks ago about Google making some changes to chrome to reduce it's resources utilization which has been impacting laptop batteries negatively. Since am a victim, I downloaded the beta version with these new improvements before it's official release.
Only today has Chrome thrown a warning while am on Chess.com stating;
"This site uses a plugin (Adobe Flash player) that will soon be unsupported.
Could not load Shockwave Flash"
I hope Chess.com staff are aware about it.
