Player Ratings seem VERY low?

I am currently below 1200 in Bullet and Blitz but over 1500 in Standard time elo. I am a bit surprised how strong a 1200elo guy is in Blitz when I can often beat that same guy in standard easily.

I tried playing blitz on this website and 1200-1300 seem like 1600++ USCF.

1200s in OTB get crushed by me, in live standard usually the same though it is also stronger than OTB ratings.

I do not play at the level most of you guys do, but don't mind. I just like good, interesting matches. I find that ratings seem to go in waves on Chess.com... My rating will get up near my highs, and suddenly guys with lower ratings don't just beat me, but steal my lunch money as well! My rating drops, but it continues to happen. Right now I have guys 400 points below my the usual upper swing of my ratings who just wipe me off the board. I would think, as often as I and others play here the ratings would reach a fairly stable level, but that never seems to happen. I know, new players their rating might not mean much, but I check their games - I'm not talking about them. It just seems rare I get a game that is an interesting challenge between two fairly equal players, despite having the same ratings. Either they blow me away (no fun) or I blow them away (only slightly more fun). I am not comparing ratings here to some other standard, only the constant variability in how well players at a particular level play. When these waves happen it is just too many games and too many players who suddenly are playing much better (or worse- which is when my rating goes up near the my upper limit). I have noticed that Sunday's in particular are tough - do people let their kids use their log-in all week so they can trounce dumbasses like me on Sunday? I don't know, but it I see it nearly every Sunday!

Blinsk

Some people are just better at blitz than slow chess.  I would say that usually slow chess players are better at calculation, whereas blitz players have better chess intuition.  That's the best that I can figure it.

Yes Blinsk, I think you'r right. In real life there was a guy who I would beat in standard chess but in blitz (5min) he would beat me. Although the difference between my standard rate and blitz is not as great as I initially thought as I did manage to get to 1300+ in Blitz. I think my standard and Blitz rating may differ by about 250 points. Also there is an average difference of 72 points according to chess.com... 1159 is average for standard time and 1087 for blitz time so if I subtract 72 from the difference there there is ''only'' a ~180 points gap between my standard and blitz skill.
