You can more or less do this already by setting up a "new game" from a "custom fen" and then just play the computer from there. The only differences right now is that:
-You can only play against Stockfish by this method - not any of the "adaptive bots" or "personality bots"
-You can't "tell" the computer to play a certain opening or setup (e.g. play a Dutch-stonewall setup or play the Benko-Gambit Fully Accepted with Black).
Best you can do now is setup the starting position and let the engine play from there.
