computer thinking loop

this is friggin annoying. Ive been playing chess against the computer for an hour.. started maybe 10 games, and couldnt finish one because of this error message..

Playing on the basic setting. Cant through one game.. Oh well.  Too bad, because this site used to be alot of fun

Are you still experiencing this now? We've had a few reports about the vs computer getting stuck so have hopefully fixed it now.

its not stupid. when it gets into a situation it cant get out of easily, it freezes up. It says "I quit".

I really like playing it though.. great website. I waste alot of time on it, according to my bored wife.

Any chance of the thinking loop being fixed in the near future?

Any way around the problem?  It happens even on the basic level?

It's hoping you will get bored and leave, so that it can win on time. Or it's distracting you while it convinces your toaster to strangle you.

It is broken. Stop playing against it, until it is repaired.

We've just added a fix for the 'against the computer' issues members have been experiencing.

Can you go into computer chess, look on the bottom right corner of your monitor. Can you click on the java icon then Open Control Panel.

Once this is open, use the bottom box where it says 'Settings'  - when that new box opens, click where it says 'delete files'.
Then OK

Once you've done this, refresh the page.

Sometimes the java icon is turned off from appearing in the tray.  If you're running windows....

start button/control panel/java/advanced/miscellaneous/check box "Place icon in system tray"

Also try clearing your cache, and even your java cache. see: http://www.java.com/en/download/help/plugin_cache.xml

Then try 'against the computer' for me.  If you're still having issues on there can you please let me know in detail whats happening.
