We had a situation develop in the match Team Manchester Vs Team London where:-
- In Round 2 we had a players account closed by chess.com for allegations of cheating and so we(Team London) lost two points because his game had started before his account was closed.
- In the same match we had a player play for us against Team Manchester who had already played for Team Channel Islands in Round 1. So in effect he was playing for both Team Channel Islands and Team London in the same round in the same tournament in the same year! So the tournament organiser deducted 2 more points from Team London but i banned the player from further Team London activities.
My learning from this incident is:-
- Organisers should publish names of all players per team before commencement of the first round(though i know the list will later on grow as more players join in the fun) but an initial list of players should still be made available for viewing.
- The rule book for the tournament should be made easily accessible to al admins.
- Links to all on going matches should be available.
Can't wait for this tournament to start!
