Daily puzzles

The thing I hate about daily puzzles is the range of difficulty on the puzzles is enourmous.

Some are like 15 moves long and would take a super computer or a GM several minutes to calculate the correct answer without error. I enjoy these types

Others are moderately hard and like 5 moves long, and would take a decent player like myself a few minutes to figure out most times. I also enjoy these types

Others are games that there is more than one way to win the game, and you must find the fastest way to do so. I do not like these that much some times I just like to simplify the position and will make moves that "lead to a win" not necisarilly the fastest win but a win is a win, slow and steady can win a lot of races but they do have some meaning thinking for 10 minutes about how to mate someone in 5 or 6 moves takes longer than simply mating them in 1 minute with say 8 or 10 moves. You can learn something from these, sometimes "faster is slower"

Then finally there is the daily puzzles that are total trash and a waste of time like a bishop is hanging and you capture it on the first move ending the puzzle.

What puzzles do you like best?

It's not about you.  It's about every chess player, all at different levels of competency.

That is true, and I know it is not all about me theghall... but all I am saying is when I look at a puzzle, and figure it out in 2 seconds b/c it is a checkmate in 1 and the title of the puzzle gives you a hint as well.

Some puzzles are too simple for any player to learn from. My four year old niece could solve most of the sunday puzzles, 1 move puzzles where it is mate in 1, or simply a hanging piece should not exist b/c it is not a puzzle, it should be 2 moves min to be a daily puzzle

I kind of agree, easy mates in 1 are a little pointless

Hi

gzwashout

i can understand the different levels of difficulty one puzzle cannot fit perfectly to all the chess community

keep in mind that you can do puzzles of all difficulty levels any time you wish by doing puzzle rush or puzzle battles i think the daily puzzle is more a community activity
