Today's episode of "The BIG Show" aired at Noon Pacific/3 PM Eastern and 5 games were played today by IM Danny Rensch. Looking back at all of the recaps for this show, it seems that this was Danny's first ever Perfect Show, going 5/5 in some pretty long games. The closest he's come before today was the 4.5/5 performance on 10/21. Congrats to Danny!
As usual, he played 5 15/10 games to the first few challengers in LIVE Chess and today's show was open to Platinum/Diamond members. So here are the games in the order they finished.
So there you have it. 5/5! There is the first episode of this new show that I didn't recap so if that was the first perfect show, then I apologize, but it's still pretty cool to witness.
Tomorrow on Chess.com/TV at 10 AM Pacific/1 PM Eastern/6 PM London time is another episode of Pardon our Blunders, open to ALL Members so we'll see you then.
On my Qxa8?? I had been moving my queen around, and I forgot the original square that my queen had been on. When this happens, I usually take my opponents king with my piece, but since that is an illegal move, the queen goes back to it's original square. For some reason this time, I took Danny's rook instead and that happened to be a legal move.... My other mistake was playing Qxb7, when I should have played Bxf7+.
