No, you cannot have here untimed rated tactics trainer.

paid members can turn off the timer.     unpaid members (non-paying), cannot enjoy the same privileges of paid membership.   that is the way of free enterprise, whether any particular person likes it or not.  life is what it is.

Paid members receive rated problems in TT? OK, I haven't know that. So, that guy, deepgreen is then really off, he has no idea of the features of the site (because he said that rated untimed mode would be considered in the future).

HAhaha!

Maybe deepgreen worked in the cheating detection team too?

Somewhere along the way, someone has lost the thread...

Premium members can choose to practice their tactics untimed & thus unrated. Nobody (currently) gets rated for doing untimed tactics. That would be a future feature candidate.

I don't think there was anything misleading in my earlier advice to GreenIsland (a premium member), that the option to turn off scoring/timing was his.

I understand exactly what you just said.

All I did was express the opinion that the time allocation often seems skewed. Easy problems sometimes seem hard and hard ones easy.

Perhaps the perception is just mine and nothing more. Thanks for your comments.

Hi832

how many points do you have?

There is no time allocation: it is the average of the times taken by the users who solved that problem before.

You keep telling me that which I know. I know it is all about the average or mean time in a given pool of players. What I said was simply a figure of speech, a metaphor...

Now, I must say "Tah...tah." Atos is getting all worked up from these kernels of wisdom.

Well I've left it on rated & it seems to be doing me some good - my rating hovers around 800 but that's no problem - it it helping me to more quickly identify the nature of the problem (pin. fork, checkmate etc). So - it's not too hard - I think when you first start a rating of 1200 is high for a weaker player - you just have to be patient while your points plummet to a value more in line with your skills. This site does seem to welcome all who love chess - not just the mighty players!
