Most moderators likely have a lot of other things they're involved in. I know I do.
Exactly, moderators give up their own time to make Chess.com a better place. Nobody becomes a moderator and gives up their time dealing with the large quantities of people complaining and whining in forums, just so they can feel more powerful.
