Do people who leave games early without resigning actually get caught?

I don't meen to sound like I'm moaning but recently in a significant few of my online games, players have disconnected from the game when in a blatently lost possition rather then resign.

I understand that in some of these cases it may be a legitamate mistake. I myself had my internet connection drop mid game and thus lost. However when it happened to me, it was from a neutral possition and i messaged the player appologising and offered an online rematch.

I'm not willing at accept however that all the players that have disconected early have legitamate reasons and therefore I would like to know if Chess.com does actually follow up the reports that are automaticaly send and do people actualy have there account removed?

It seems like a real shame that this website has these kind of players. 99% of the people I play are perfectly fine and I enjoy playing them. I wish that the few that are not sporting would either learn how to play fair or leave.

Anyway, Thank you to everyone who play's fair. I really enjoy playing on this site and am not going to let the bad few ruin it. I just want to know if they get caught.

I believe the admins track and punish repeat-offenders.
