Leagues have no impact on pairings. However, players trying to promote in leagues may have a lower rating than their normal rating prior to leagues, mainly due to playing a lot more when tired or tilting.
The same happened to me, got promoted to elite and lost 200 elo. Everyone suddenly got my Caro Kann pet defense too easily in 5s per move response lol
As a digital product design myself, I know that triggers that got users obsessed and more engaged usually are not coincidence.

I wonder if kids, who are more likely to be triggered by gamification badges happened to start play using engines in order to get promoted. I just don't know. It's just weird to me that all of a sudden 1150s started getting 89-92% of accuracy with plenty of time left, in matches that I still get my average 75-85%.

Well I may be wrong but I truely believe it does somehow.
Because as soon as I graduated from 1st place to the upper league the pairings got easier and I broke 1500 after getting owned by 1150s a day prior...
I know the waves of chess, tilt, all that... This was something more, I'm almost sure...

Almost all of my opponents i get paired up against are legends or next highest like champion almost always at higher end of the leagues. I think pairings are done toward league but still will match you up agianst highest of the league if one from your own league is not available. This is just my experience with pairings. I almost rarely get anyone in bottom of the leagues anymore almost always the top leagues.

As mentioned before, the pairing system does not look at leagues at all.

hah well I'm not concerned with this anymore and I'm trying to lay off Blitz to focus on longer time controls... But I'm almost certain that although officialy what you say is true... there's something fishy.

There are over 2.3 million members in the top three leagues and just over 3 million in the bottom ones. It stands to reason close to half of your opponents, if they're participating in leagues, are going to be in the top-3.
If you include crystal, just under 70% of active players are in the top-4 leagues.

Yeah but what me and others have seen is that it’s not only that you get paired with people in your league but also with similarly ranked individuals which just doesn’t seem random. I remember when I was writing this post I was constantly facing people who are like #1-4 in their league.. I remember the nature of the opponents reflected that (higher ranked = those who play a lot and continue to play obsessively even on losing streaks, like myself at the time).
the nature of their playing style seems to be in line with their spot in the league, obviously. Very aggressive, preforming over their current rating, fast, tenacious… etc.
I’m not complaining it’s all good just interesting how when I faced some of these opponents I’m like wtf smurf.. I check the profile and he’s #2 in the same league I’m in. Again and again.. Coincidence?
Now I noticed the pairings seem to be just harder . I’m still 1750-1800 Blitz on lichess and here on chess.com I’m not gaining back the 200 I lost the pairings at 1300 now seem to be harder than lichess 1800 now I know there’s a gap but it’s never been so big . I literally crush on lichess then move to chess.com get crushed by 1250s.
I noticed the opponents are more tenacious , fast , resourceful and aggressive. Could this be because of my high league spot so I get paired with other obsessive 3+0 specialists which I don’t usually get?
(I’m normally like #30 in the league)
