ELO differences

so. I'm a little bit flabbergasted. I started out on chess.com playing and worked my way up to a 1200 ELO if I remember correctly. then I met a few guess that were around my level and we all played on lichess. there I worked my way up to an ELO of 1350. A few months ago I started playing on chess.com again and I keep on loosing and now I'm down to like 700. on lichess I keep my rating. I've heard that lichess players have a higher rating of like 100 in the beginners area where basically I'm still in but that's almost double. there are a few minor things that I don't like here like the speed of the animation of the figurines or that I sometimes need to push it multiple times so that it takes in the moves rarely sometimes even resulting on a false move but I can't believe that that could make a difference. is the chess.com community that much stronger nowadays or what has happened. up until like 2 years ago even on here I was 1200. please someone enlighten me. I'm really at a loss for words.

The ratings have no absolute value. Only rating differences between two players matter.
That is why different rating systems with different player pools have some offset to each other.

Hey everyone! I’ve built a tool to convert ratings between Chess.com and Lichess—give it a try here: https://lichess.org/@/lucb3/blog/converting-chesscom-to-lichess-ratings-a-new-data-driven-method/Ww3v70WB
