The Fortnight Speed Vote League is getting ready to start its second season.  There's still one week left to get your team registered.  All you need to do to qualify is complete one game of Vote Chess at 10-mins/turn WITHOUT TIMING OUT (to prove that you can go the distance, since these games can last for several hours).  Each team will play 1 game of Speed Vote Chess every 2 weeks.

The Season 2 schedule will look like this:

Fortnight 1: 11/9-11/22
Fortnight 2: 11/23-12/6
Fortnight 3: 12/7-12/20

Holiday Break: 12/21-1/3

Fortnight 4: 1/4-1/17
Fortnight 5: 1/18-1/31

Quarter-Finals: 2/1-2/14
Semi-Finals: 2/15-2/28
Finals: 3/1-3/14

Off-Season: 3/15-4/4

I will begin working on the schedule on Monday, October 19th, and have it posted by Monday, October 26th.  Therefore, all teams have until Sunday, October 18th to qualify.

If you would like your team to compete in Season 2, please post the names of at least 2 administraors (one primary contact, and at least one secondary contact) who will be responsible for making sure that the league games are started as scheduled.

Here is a link to the teams who have already signed up:

Speed Vote Games are incredibly intense and exciting!!  They are also a great bonding tool for groups to come together and learn how to function as a team.  Anyone is welcome to join the League HQ and follow along with all the action:

If you don't qualify the last week you will not be in right?

Maybe.  We need the number of teams to be a multiple of 5 for the divisions to work.  At the moment we may go with 20 or 25 depending on how things play out this week.  Who does and does not make the cut has yet to be determined.  The longer you can keep a Speed Vote Game alive, the better your odds of making it in.  Your longest game right now is 11 moves which puts you ahead of some of the other teams, but behind most of them (you're probably right in that 20-25 range).  However, I've seen your efforts in trying to find opponents that will help you qualify, and that will be taken into consideration.  Don't give up yet.
