Game Small Talk, anyone?

My games are generally full of blunders it doesn't mean that they aren't good games. Yes some of them will be pretty terrible and not particularly good but others despite some blunders by both players will be interesting, competetive and closely contested. So to me, even though the quality of play isn't great (I'm not Kasparov) I still think that the games are good. We can always learn something from our mistakes which is a good thing also.

What if you thought of them as an extension to the chat, and came up with something insightful for the inscription?

really?? that's interesting ... i've gone back over old games (once in a while) and noticed that the player had posted a "good game" comment or something similar. i don't remember there being an alert.

I think he meant it should be implemented.

It would be a good feature to add

Ask a former opponent to add a comment to one of your old games - and see whether the alert comes up.

I can't remember ever seeing an alert of this kind before

I have Alerts switched on, in my Emails & Alerts Settings, for all items: Messages, Notes, Tracking, Comments, Trophies & Online Chess. I assume the last one of these is responsible for giving rise to the alerts.

in the interim, can anybody else verify if this feature is available? i was about to go digging through the alert options to see if it's something i had accidentally turned off.

I get alerts for that too. 

EDIT: I'm pretty sure a specific option controlling only that isn't available, but artfizz is probably right the "online chess" alert would control it.

curiouser and curiouser ... i had the last one turned off, and that could account for the lack of alerts in finished games.

would be nice if the "alert" system was more detailed. but it appears you may be right ... thanks!

Curiously, although I get alerts for additional chat on games that have recently finished, when someone adds to the chat on a very old game, I don't get an alert.

I get alerts when someone comments after a game...it pops up in the game section, just like when they've made a move.
