Since there's no way to tell the people who have connection problems from the people who have attitude problems, it's a loss. If it happens very often you may get some minor restrictions on playing (since intended or not disconnects are no fun for the other player).

I lost a game when my computer lost my connection. Does the chess.com system here have any way of recording that you lost your connection? Is it recorded that I might have pulled the plug? I did not do that, of course, but how is that happenstance treated by the chess.com system?
