Halloween Theme

I'll be giving away 6 months of free Chess Mentor time for the best HALLOWEEN theme! We'll be using it as our homepage theme for Oct 31. Here is what I am envisioning:

- don't be TOO drastic with colors
- must be pleasant on the eyes
- fun pumpkin-ish logo
- stick to the more friendly side of halloween (pumpkins, candy, nice ghosts - not bloody skeletons)

If a Platinum or Diamond member wins it, could they be allowed to "gift" the membership to someone else as a free 6-month Gold membership? Gotta spread the love, ya know...

If I want the background image to be centered (not tiled) and I want it to fill the screen completely without stretching or compressing, what is the best image size to use? Or does it depend on each individual's monitor settings?

It also appears to me that only the sides and sometimes the bottom of the background image are actually visible. Is this the case on all pages? I haven't been everywhere on this site.

Is October 31st the deadline? Do you need it before then?

you should make it at least 1700px wide if you center (and remove the middle 900 px to keep it small!)

You should change the motto from "Play. Learn. Share." to "Play. Learn. Scare." methinks.

Oops, my mistake. I need more caffienne. Hmm... Chess Mentor, huh? I'm afraid I would have to keep that all to myself (evil laugh).

I'm gonna steal that "scare" idea... that's very clever.

Theme name is Jack-o-lantern! I crocheted the pumpkin, cross stitched the face on the jack-o-lantern then took the photo.

Okay, if you sort the list by "Create Date", mine should be near the top. It's appropriately titled "excelguru test 2" because test 1 was a total disaster.

Well, I'm the excelguru and I tested some different theme ideas. This was my 2nd such test, hence the brilliantly original name (not). Besides, I can always rename it later.

Thanks. The trick is to make the logo at 4x size in Photoshop then shrink it to 25% when you're done. It's a lot easier to work with a larger image. It's a work in progress. It'll change some more before the 28th. There are a few things I'm not happy with.
