Yes, yes it is.
#Hans Gate: Is our community really this toxic?
You are talking about people who play chess.
They have nothing else going on in their lives……
This is as good as it gets for them.
Good points !
How's it possible to cheat OTB?
They cheat by going to bathroom to look at their cell phones. But Hans didn’t go to bathroom until the games are over and until he’s scanned throughly.
Maybe it was a 'Godfather job' -- cell phone stashed behind the cistern.

How's it possible to cheat OTB?
There's lots of ways to cheat OTB. Most of them involve having a second person signaling to the player somehow. Borislav Ivanov was accused of having a vibrator in his shoe in 2013. Or toiletgate, where Gaioz Nigalidze was accused of hiding a phone in the bathroom.
However, just because it is possible, doesn't mean it happened, because it is equally possible for Hans to cheat as it is for Magnus to cheat, so merely being able to doesn't mean it happened.
Evidence is important.

I am personally disappointed at big Chess influencers sharing careless opinion
Sure, Naka's a buffoon, but that's nothing new.

Sometimes setting a good example feels like a very lonely enterprise.
None of us has adequate information. We have upset and innuendo and inference. Parts of the chess community fill the information gap with their passionate intensity, and some of that is ugly. Nevertheless, setting a good example by resisting inflexible assertion is still the right thing to do, even if we are not a majority.
idgaf, I just play puzzles. But I'll drop this site altogether now, since it seems to ban people whenever Magnus' feelings are hurt...

Influencer pre requisite. They must cater to a similar crowd

so someone beats the world champion
the world champion withdraws, like a sore loser
he probably complains about some made up bs
the tournament takes the anti-cheat measures to another level (because of the bs)
people believe him, and the rumors spread
a major company(chess.com) bans the world champions opponent
and he is shunned(the opponent)
just think
all of the hate against niemann is based on the nonsense carlsen made up
why??
idk why the chess community is this dumb

How's it possible to cheat OTB?
They cheat by going to bathroom to look at their cell phones. But Hans didn’t go to bathroom until the games are over and until he’s scanned throughly. Two weeks ago at a tournament during a game he wanted to pee so bad he could hardly concentrate to finish the game. It was extremely painful 😖 But luckily he didn’t pee in his pants and he also won the game.
Yes, there was no pipi in the pampers.
You all have followed the recent storm in the chess world. After beating the World Champion with the black pieces, Hans Niemann, 19 years old, was indirectly accused of cheating by Magnus Carlsen, with no evidence given. The World Champion only shared a very evasive tweet about his withdrawal of the Sinquefield Cup.
Then followed a party of hate upon Hans, led by none other than the famous streamer Hikaru Nakamura. In his stream he accused Hans of cheating very directly based on no tangible fact except "weird behaviour" and the post-game analysis being "not 2700". Not taking into account the exhaustion of the GM after playing a long match against Alireza Firouzja. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KN3zNrvO8b4
Yesterday, Hans Niemann got to defend himself in an interview with Saint Louis Chess Club, and explains he has never cheated over the board. He also declared Chess.com banned his account, only sending a private notification by email to Hans, with no reason given for this ban. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJZuT-_kij0
To me this feels like an extremely unprofessionnal behaviour, and very surprising coming from such a big company. Should Hans have cheated or not - and then again seems very unlikely looking at all the security checks at Sinquefield Cup - taking mesures against someone only based on rumours is insane.
We already saw the debate on whether closed tournament invites are preventing young talents from reaching the elite. We see now that even when one of these youngsters is invited, if he dares beat the World Champion in a game, he is instantly banned from the community. I am personally disappointed at big Chess influencers sharing careless opinion and masses following through blindly.
Isn't anyone innocent before being proven guilty?
