A few of my friends who are above 1000 rapid are in the 78th percentile.
A couple years ago when I was 1200, that was the 80 percentile.
Must mean something?

Wouldn't you need to see chess ratings' normal distribution in order to determine if that means something?
Definitely something changed very recently. I was at around 1600 most of the time and now I am struggling at the 1400 level
Millions of underrated new chess players added and they are hungry thats why everyone is losing ratings to these new sharks , the older accounts must unite in this war and take an oath to promise to beat these new accounts so badly that they become discouraged and fly back to wherever they came from

Yeah lets have a war with em . But these things must be done delicately in case they get spooked. Just keep cranking the puzzle's.. We got this
Or is it just that I'm going through a regression in my play?
I started in July, 2022. Came in with a ~600 rating. Made it to 1000 rating on the last day of the year of 2022.
Managed to stay above it for a while. Sank down to >900. Sank down to >800. Now sinking to <800.
In the meantime, I've defeated harder rated bots. Feels like I got better. But my rating's spiralling down the can.
With the recent influx of new chess players, has the meaning of ratings changed? Is it now harder to reach 1000?
