How do I rejoin a game after accidentally closing the window?

Just reopening the window should attempt to reconnect unless you have your browser set to always open a home page.

Success depends on how long you have been disconnected.

Thanks - yes my browser always opens the home page. I like that it does, so is there any way from the chess.com homepage to resume a game you're currently playing, but don't have open, before the timer has made it abandoned?

Before closing your window make sure you take you’re chessboard with you.

At least in mobile you can press the "play" tab and it takes you back to the game

I don't think that has happened to me since the days of dial-up.

You guys ever heard of the latest cutting edge invention in IT? It's called browser history.

You can't, just just forfeit the game if you close the window, or in some cases switch tabs / resize the window.   There is no way back to the game.    Terrible UI/UX, no one at chess.com cares, because they don't have to.

Oh, if only we had thought of that!   Wow, genius.

No, that doesn't work.   Please understand a problem before you try to "help", especially with a sarcastic jerk attitude.

On move 14, my opponent took his time (it was a 15/10 game) and I clicked on the "messages" tab in order to check my messages (duh), but then couldn't find my way back to the active game for a short time and finally it turned out that I've "aborted" that game. I still had almost 12 minutes on my clock and my opponent still had 10 minutes when the game got aborted... It's true that chess com isn't the most user friendly environment for its members. My membership has almost expired and I won't renew it, that's for sure!

Just use ctrl+shift+t

One way to do it if you know or remember the name of your opponent is to go his profile and click on "watch him" .

It's beyond ridiculous that if you go to your own profile it doesn't show that you have an active game.

Tell me about it, I have appblock on my phone, I technically can continue playing on PC if I need to, but the moment it switches off I go to chess.com on PC and it's oblivious. Usually right after I find the winning move this happens.
