On the website just click the link that says Resign (chess piece with a red x on it). On the app, click the menu while in a game, bottom-left on Android at least and choose Resign.

Always mail-in a letter of resignation; it's more dignified, and really makes it official. How rude to just press a button and retreat from the world, honestly?!! But, please, don't use a red-colored pencil, but type or use a word-processor and print your resignation document. We purists prefer not to fax it in.
