I don't like his screen name either, and I don't know what Chess.com is going to do, but I think he should be able to have that screen name.
how do you report an inappropriate screen name?

I think chess.com can, and should, and will, keep religious, racial, and national hate speech of its site.

The Orwellian "hate-speech". I can't believe how many people in the U.S. want to end free speech.

You know why swedes dislike(i would hate them) muslims? It is because they think it is alright to rape blind, unveiled women...just read some of the stories of what these muslims have done to women in sweden and other european countries(mostly sweden). He atleast has a decent reason for disliking muslims in Sweden.
You get my vote for "Idiot of the Year".

Now that the thread is unlocked, allow me to rebut.
"Freedom of Speech" as meant in the United States Constitution, refers to government action.
A private citizen, or corporation (such as oh, chess.com) has the right to regulate anything said on its property (such as, oh, a message board).
Now, if the U.S. government told Erik that he had to delete such speech, I would oppose it.
If Erik wishes to delete said speech, or any other comment he chooses to, from HIS message board, that is HIS right, as said board is HIS property.
Thank you.

Amen! I made that point the other day. I'm tired of hearing people argue that they have the right to say whatever they want regardless of the circumstances or location based on their free speech rights.

Ultimately we are all guests here. If you come into my house and become verbally abusive or offensive in front of my family and my other guests you can bank on my exercising my right to censor you or, failing that, ask you to leave.

I don't know why you thought it necessary to relay the obvious. Chess.com will do what they wish in the matter. No kidding. Freedom of speech is also a constitutional right. No kidding. Why are people so insulted by what they read or see that they cheer when such things are censored? It tells more about how little foresight these weak, self-absorbed people have, that they can't imagine or don't care about the consequences of these limits on expression. I don't like that. Get rid of it. Like just pushing a button without thinking about it. My lament is for free speech, and empathy, not cowardness and power.

He doesn't HATE anybody. It seems quite clear that he just doesn't like them

Actually you are a paying customer. As a paying customer you can request that offensive language be removed. If it isn't you have the option of not renewing your membership. If enough members withdraw because of this issue then the policy will be changed or the web site will stop being profitable. The same goes for a club that features a comic using offensive language. You have the option of requesting that the language stop. If that doesn't work you can walk out.

^http://majorityrights.com/index.php/weblog/comments/muslim_rape_wave_in_sweden/ you sir... must not have a heart.
Why don't you put some research into the subject before calling me an idiot next time...
Gosh, I can't believe that Mr Patel, who runs my local grocery store, is in favour of raping my wife! That's the last time I buy my bread rolls from his store.
I've already boycotted my local Chinese restaurant (until Mr Ng agrees to leave Tibet) and my local butcher (run by Mr Goldstein, who shows no sign of removing his army from Palestine).

Jeez louise, you seem like nightmare company :)

But if the guests were your livelihood?

A worthy candidate, to be sure, but I think you've made a mistake casting your vote before we've reached even the half-way point of the year. In the next 6.5 months someone is sure to soar to even greater heights of idiocy, and now you have no vote left.

I'm not sure what you mean, but you have a smile at the end, so I don't want to guess.
