Oh! Haven't you heard? People are being raped in Europe, but inspector SuperfluousAdam is on the case! With the help of an article he read, he was able to determine the culprits of this European menace...the Muslims

Watch out Trysts. You'll end up getting this thread locked too.

My apologies. Certain things have an affect upon me, RDR75.

Of course the name should be banned.  Also it doesn't matter if the muslims are doing crazy shit, that's hate speech and you shouldn't single people out on a site like this.

Leave the Shi'ites out of this buddy.

Hey!  This little witchhunt for stereotyping and intolerance has opened my eyes.  I just realized your screen name obviously indicates you're an active promoter of cannabalism!!  Surprised Surprised Surprised Surprised Surprised   Talk about hate speech-- this takes the cake!

ERIKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!

hmmm, hate speech against a major religion has nothing to do with a name "themothman", or other nicks.

I don't see how you could call this "intellectual laziness"? If you spray-paint someone's property, no matter what you painted, it's vandalism.

Intellectual laziness because you said that you were defending a free speech right that doesn't apply in this situation, as noted earlier in various places. Argue that management should allow screen names within certain parameters but not that they are violating free speech rights if they don't. Remember that there are images, names and language whose inclusion on this site nobody would defend. Its the difficult job of management to decide where those lines should be drawn.

I wasn't defending "free speech right". I made that quite clear. I'm already free. I don't defend rights. Rights are just what the State says they have given to you, mostly without fear of reprisal. The State doesn't give me my freedom. I'm already  free. I wouldn't defend a right given by the State. I would, and will hope that people realise what power they keep giving to the State because they want to be taken care of by the State instead of taking care of themselves.

The Orwellian "hate-speech". I can't believe how many people in the U.S. want to end free speech.

This is you defending free speech.

It is me defending free speech, free expression, not the constitutional right of free speech as my proceeding posts make clear.

If you're not defending the constitutional rright to free speech, and you're not telling Erik how to run his website, then in what context does your advocacy of  free expression exist? I'm just trying to understand.Laughing

I'm a free being, electricpawn. No religion. No country. No race. Et cetera. The world contains free beings, whether they know they are free or not. My freedom will take my entire life to understand. In trying to understand freedom, I must understand that the Other is free. Empathy is the moral bridge in which I understand both my freedom and the Other's freedom. It only reasonably follows that I advocate a diverse manifestation of free expression.

Yeah duied, remember, its not about winning or loseing, its about ghetting your king to the otheir side man

electricpawn

I'm not sure how to respond to those last three posts, so I won't.

But where does Erik's freedom to control his property fit into that neo-hippy drivel?

Erik is free to do what he wants. And you are trapped in the self-made prison of the site owner's butt. So you are not freeLaughing

ivandh

You know who else talked about the freedom to control their property? Slave-holders. Its all relative.

You could have just let it go, dude.

There are many beings on earth who are not free to express themselves unless they are willing to be tortured or killed, but I respect your point of view. Freedom requires accountability, and high levels of freedom require high levels of accountability.

CptnRobinson

It was mentioned earlier that graffiti was vandalism, and so shouldn't be allowed.  In agreeing to that, one would be agreeing to the idea that some things, which seem to fit under freedom of expression, actually shouldn't be protected, presumably because they are harmful to others.  The same thing applies here.  The screen name in question should not be allowed, because it is racism.  Racism should not be protected by freedom of speech, much in the same way that graffiti should not be protected by freedom of expression.

c'mon... of course you are free. You are free to operate within guidelines or not.  As long as you are willing to accept the consequences of your actions, you're free to do most whatever you wish.  It's entirely up to you to decide what's more important to you.  People bandy the words "Freedom" and "Rights" around shrouded in cloak of the American flag as if these words give them total permission to do as they please regardless of whose toes they step upon in the process. Everyone is as free, and only as free, as the responsibilites and consequences one is willing to accept.
