We plan to run a friendly "OTB" tournament and the Live Chess application would be great if  it could be trusted!

So, How stable is "Live Chess"?

When will live chess here work well with IE browser ?  I would like to play blitz here too but right now it doesnt work well at all so I play my blitz games on ICC still.

anyone looking for a live chess alternative should check out www.gamecolony.com  seems to work well.  that said i find chess.com to be the best overall chess website i have found.

another way to play live chess of course is to join a club and face your opponant accross the board with the clock ticking - now that is live chess!

Indeed! But we aim for a sort of "Patzers International" so meeting IRl might be inconvenient.

BTW, would you consider the stabillity to be an issue both when playing slow games and blitz games?

I've only been able to access Live Chess through Firefox on my Linux laptop.  I have two windows XP machines (browsers: Firefox and Chrome) that cannot load Live Chess, probably due to a security setting.
