Different folks have different dreams.  This, is the bunny's.

So put in 10000 hours into the following to become an expert

1. refuse rematch

2. flag your opponent

3. use perpetual check to force a draw when you're losing by material

4. force a stalemate or allowing a stalemate when you're losing by material

5. resign when your opponent is about to crush you

Thanks for the tips! wink.png

Wait a minute on #4.   Stalemate is that one last chance of getting away!!!!!  check-mate is death, stalemate it seems you're on the run and ...escape death.

You forgot one tip: when your victory is inevitable, prolong the game by underpromoting several pawns to "troll" your opponent.

2,3 and 4 mean that your opponent hasn’t done enough to win (thinking that preventing your opponent from winning is cowardice is pretty silly. It means you’ve held out). No one owes you a rematch. And no 5 is manners. There is no more crushing to be done. I don’t think you understand what winning or losing a chess game is.

but that's not being a coward

#4. Well, since the opponent won’t resign as per OP’s definition of “cowardice”, the player ahead can do what they like!

When I once utilized this tactic in a live game, I was told the opposite by my opponent.

perhaps its time to keep the coffee in check.  or the bunny has serious reading comprehension issues...

Regarding the fifth point, I live under the assumption that refraining from resigning in "hopeless" positions is actually the cowardly thing to do.

#11 Exactly. Unless you’re trying to win on time, which is fine when both players have accepted those time controls.

I don't know.  online it will always be to the death.   In one of my games, I just made my 100th move.    OTB, yea sure i'll resign.   either way it's all fun and games.    Prove me wrong.  lol

You can, (Not possible in OTB but can be in online chess ) challenge some player for a game, when they come to live chess for your challenge....abort the game and don’t play...
