How to save settings when playing vs computer?

I'm doing some chess mentor positions, or some tactics trainer positions, and in the end sometimes I like to play them against the computer.

It opens another window, and the color of the chessboard is quite ugly, a kind of dark green. Everytime I go on settings, and change the chessboard to brown, but then everytime I close the window, and re-open it, it returns back to the ugly green.

Is there any way to save the settings permanently?

(I'm not speaking of the normal chessboard, only the one which is used in Java for playing against the computer)
