The reason I prefer chess.com is that the graphics in the app are far superior. With lichess there's like a delay on every move, and the sound is unrealistic. JMO.
Is it better to Chess.com or Lichess.org?

Lichess has a couple of key issues (I've got accounts both in Lichess.org & Chess.com). The first one refers to lag compensation. They've developed an unworthy algorithm that, in theory, allows users with poor Internet (99% of the whole Lichess pool), to play fast time control games. The problem comes when lag compensation compensates too much to users with poor Internet, giving away more seconds than desirable. As a direct consequence, as the poorest is your Internet, you've got more chances to win the game. That's terrible. It's a kind of cheat, and Lichess has become the paradise for switch-laggers. The developers do nothing. The second problem is cheating. I know it's not just an issue of Lichess, but they do nothing either. Yes, they close some accounts, but much more ones are free to cheat every day. According to their knowledge, cheating is a kind of fake news on Lichess. So well, your choice, gents.
Yes, you would be the resident expert on cheating wouldn't you....
Nope, I wouldn't ... I'm just sharing my own experience. In fact, you always can find answers like yours on both chess platforms. After playing thousands of games on Lichess and much less here, that's what I think. Regards.

This doesn't seem to be the case for me. Since I'm in Australia my ping on lichess is rarely below 300, which gives me a huge disadvantage because premoves consume like ~0.2 seconds off my clock, instead of 0.0
This makes it basically impossible to win a time scramble against any decent player, and for that reason I can only play hyper and ultra on chess.com. It is absolutely unplayable on lichess due to the lag.
Yes, you're right, sometimes there's a problem with the lag for both sides (Europe vs Australia, for instance). In that case, the game is unplayable for both. The matter is that I've got a 1Gb symmetric Internet and sometimes, playing with high lag users, is a clear disadvantage. Regards.

I'm at the Lichess database page every day, and also at the Lichess Elite database page every day, but it's probably been a few months since I've actually been to Lichess itself. FWIW, their GUI is significantly improved with the Prettier Lichess Chrome extension.

Ignores Reports User sugestions and mutes people silently, more rating manipulaters and more cheaters since at least December and the wrong timeout rules.
Chess, com censores right innocent people, banned me once, terrible ratinf system, banned me while was playing in many dayly tournaments( so they manipulate tournaments) and let people insult me and lie about me( named user is still here
So both site are toilet level.
Chess.com has more opening threats
I mean what were you banned for lol

Pros and cons I've seen from other people's discussions about this(not necessarily my opinions though.) I hope this is somewhat unbiased.
Chess.com:
Pros:
Better support team
Better forums
More users, so you can match up quicker.
And if you like variants, I believe chess.com has more variants than lichess.
Cons:
Paywalls
Ads
Limited puzzles/analysis/many other features
Lichess:
Pros:
Is free
No ads
Unlimited puzzles/many other features
Stockfish and other features such as studies.
Cons:
Said to have a slow/non-acting and somewhat toxic support team (I believe one user mentioned thibault messaging them something rude after they contacted support, though I don't remember what)
Worse forums
Less users.
TLDR: chess.com has paywalls, but a better support team, forums, and more users, and lichess is free, with plenty of features chess.com doesn't have, with a worse, sometimes toxic and slow support team, worse forums and less users.
Essentially, it boils down to if you prefer a better community or better chess tools. And of course it depends on what you think about the whole paywall/no paywalls aspect.

I like lichess for all the free resources and I enjoy doing puzzles on there but because of the high elo rating starts, you don't really get paired with people in your level. I do like to play games on chess com, I'm at least playing with the same lower rating as me lmao.

It's basically the same. The ratings at Lichess are inflated. I see what you mean, though. When you first get there you have to start at 1500, which is maybe 1200 on chesscom. It takes about fifteen games to level off. From my own experience, ~700 on chesscom is ~1000 on Lichess.

Chess.com does not pruport the idea that the moon is 51km wide and its surface a phospherized aether of krypton. Hmmm!

This is a never-ending question. Both are ok, I've got accounts on the two servers. Lichess ratings are a couple of hundred points higher, but chess.com uses Glicko and lichess.org Glicko 2. But that point is useless, I mean, both are fake points in a fake rating, just for internal use. It doesn't matter if you've got 1700 / 1900 or whatever.
The real issue is the act of cheating. Both servers are fully occupied by laggers, sandbaggers, switch laggers, and cheaters. It's pretty annoying and very disappointing. Regards.

Both are fine, Lichess is better for your own analysis, because it's free and better, easier to go by. Also Lichess database is pure gold. But for me, personally, chess.com is prettier to play on.

Here we are going to talk about your tastes for the 2 platforms.
Which of them is better and why?
- Chess.com- Lichess.org
It depends when you were playing those websites.
