I really like this idea, that would help if you want to find and play players that share the same ... I don't know the right word for it... but the same something as you. (Interests? styles? rules? ugh really can't find the right word for it)

outlook? attitude? approach?
You could decide that, for example, type +#T was compatible with type -RT if neither use of Correspondence Chess-style facilities nor resign/don't resign mattered that much to you.
you need symbols for the in-betweeners. i'm a -rt. little r for sometimes resign, and little t for sometimes talkative.

That's going to be a problem finding a representation for little #, + or - ... do we need to go with Letters? In any case, # indicates a ideological stand against resigning i.e. NEVER RESIGN!; whereas R indicates a person will resign in some circumstances not necessarily always. R & r is an interesting refinement though.
Here's a list of the 8 combinations taht make up our Essential Chess Type. If they had snappy names: lion, hyena, fox, worm, rabbit, dolphin, etc., would they be easier to talk about? Suggestions?

While we wait for the super-duper feature
- Rollover actions on a player name (rating, current games, etc)
to be implemented that will give instant information about another person (and potential opponent!), we could re-use the existing facilities to provide a clue. By using a simple 3-character code at the start of My Status, we could indicate where we stand (our attitude/tendency/views) on the Big Three:

Are you really a ORC? You claim to be Quiet yet you continually post in the Forums! Even a whiff of Correspondence Chess facilities use taints you for all eternity - unless you admit the error of your ways. You assert you have Resignation tendencies yet I'm sure I can find at least one game in which you did not resign at the correct point.
