I signed on 4 times to play and each time I am positioned with black pieces. How do I get to start with white?
It's randomly assigned. Random chance can occasionally result in four blacks in a row but it should balance out over time.
I see that you have played 14 total games and have had white 8 times.

I think he must mean playing versus the computer, which aren't necessarily recorded.
And then when he says he "signed on four times to play and each time I am positioned with the black pieces", it makes me think he thought that by quitting and relogging in, he'd get a different result...
Last night while I was playing blitz I had white three times in a row. I didn’t notice until I looked at the games and saw that I had played the same opening in all three.
I hadn't played in a full year until just 4 days ago so almost all of those previous games recorded are over a year old.
This year, I signed on to play 6 times getting black each time and I aborted 5 of them (not recorded!!) BECAUSE I kept getting black....... and NO it is not against the computer.
Now I am restricted after 2 more "aborts" today.................because I am CONSTANTLY getting ONLY black 
April 5: Make that 8 times in a row now that I was assigned black.....aborting the last 7.....NOT recorded in stats......
UPDATE: after 8 black in a row (aborting last 7) I finally got WHITE, played, and won
If your weakness is black you should be thankful you get so many opportunities to improve. You'll get nowhere in chess wanting to play only as white.

In live chess, I am pretty sure you can choose color only for unrated games.

You can choose against friends, even in rated. At least under Play.
