Hey Guys. As you may have guessed from my tag, my name is Alex; I live in Minnesota and enjoy strategy games of all kinds. I'm studying computer science at a local college and have 1 year of part-time school left in my major. Also, I'm working as a software developer focusing on iOS (Apple's mobile operating system for iPhones and iPads) using Xcode.
I have always been fond of chess and finally sat down and started learning it about 3 years ago. I played regularly for a year and had a premium membership to chess.com for most of that time. I went on to other games like magic the gathering(much easier than chess!) and starcraft II achieving outstanding results in both those games. Now, I'm back to chess; and when I pick up a game I'm usually quite focused and serious about learning it.
I would love to meet some chess.com members who share my passion and want to improve their game. My schedule right now means that I'm playing some evenings at night around 8-12pm CST and during the days on Saturday and Sunday. Drop me a message so we can connect and start improving!
I love chess.com's videos, tactics trainer, chess mentor and articles. In fact, I prefer studying chess over playing it, which is how I've always been with any game. I'd be interested in creating some lesson plans to get our study on.
What better way to improve than hire a coach? If you are a coach reading this I would be interested to know more about chess coaching and perhaps purchase some lessons.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post and I am looking forward to connecting with you!
