Making board as big as possible in the new chess.com site

Hi,  I have been unable thus far to get the board as big in the new chess.com site as it was in the old.  I use the board expander but the size stops at a smaller size than 'simple board' was.  Has this been looked at?  Thanks very much.

You can make the board pop-out and get it bigger that way. Focus Mode might make it a little bigger.

Both options can be found by hovering your cursor over the upper right of the board.

I'd be glad to send you a screenshot, Erik.  Where should I send it?  I'll try Focus Mode, too.

I did try Focus Mode.  It seems bigger, by quite a bit.  I measured with an ordinary tape measure the widths of the old Simple Board and the new Focus Mode board.  They are both approx. 5.5" wide.  I assume the lengths are similarly comparable.  So I guess Focus Mode takes care of the issue, for the most part.  Was Focus Mode always on there, or was that a subsequent addition?  Thanks all.

Focus mode has been around for a couple of months I think.

are there other means of enlarging the board, without running on Focus Mode?

Just the pop-out board as far as I'm aware.

FOCUS MODE ONLY WORKS IN LIVE CHESS. IT'S WAY WORSE THAN THE PREVIOUS CHESSBOARD ENLARGEMENT.

BESIDES, ALL THE TIME WE 'SUFFER' A BLACK BACKGROUND WHICH MANY FEEL UNHEALTHY FOR OUR EYES AND ILLOGICAL.

ALL THIS IS MAKING IT MUCH LESS APPEALING PLAYING HERE.

EVEN TO LOG IN IN NEW WEBSITE WE HAVE TO WASTE TIME GUESSING WHERE TO ACCESS! PUBLICITY ABOUT CHAMPIONSHIPS OR WHATEVER SHOULDN'T DELAY ACCESS.

PLAYING CHESS IS THE PRIORITY. WASTING TIME OR BEING UNCOMFORTABLE IT'S NOT!

HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE LATELY SPENDING TIME IN THESE ONLINE FORUMS IS A SYMPTOM OF HOW MUCH WE MISS THE OLD WEBSITE.

THE FUTURE WON'T BE MADE OF OLD MEMORIES, BUT OF NICE THINGS AT HAND.

THERE ARE 4 BUTTONS YOU CAN'T GET RID OF IN THE SCREEN, EVEN IF YOU MAXIMIZE:

'ANALYSIS-FIRST MOVE-PREVIOUS MOVE-NEXT MOVE'.

THEY'RE 'A PAIN IN THE ROOK$'!

PLEASE FIX THIS TO BE 99% LIKE PREVIOUS WEBSITE AND AVOID CHANGING THE WEBSITE SO OFTEN.

Pretty sure I've posted this else where but you can change your background to something less dark or even upload your own image.

You can increase or decrease the size of any website by pressing Ctrl and use the scroll on the mouse.

thank you, & pardon my ignorant query. I'm still trying to get the knack of the site. 

I've noticed that I've not won a game yet (that I can recall) with the new interface.  I think it's partly because of the black background.  Will try to change that in "settings."  But I have to lean towards the sentiments of the person who says s/he prefers the old interface.  At least at this point.  

I also prefer the old "Tactics" interface in some ways.  (We are creatures of habit, to some extent.)
