If you don't know your rating it is probably nowhere near 1600. 1600 is quite strong club players witch normally will have an OTB rating.
Just play, and your rating will quickly adjust to its right level.

Oops, I should've said "what my approximate/fair rating would be after a long layoff" ... my USCF rating is well above 1600, but I haven't played for a while, and I noticed chess.com ratings are not USCF ratings. (My lichess rating is well above 1600 as well.) So I think it's safe to say I'm over 1600 here, and the misclick was enough for me to feel bad about playing mismatched rated games. So I feel like I have a duty to due diligence before starting on rated games.

As said, your rating will quickly jump, so just play a few games and you'll be at an appropriate level within a few games. But being a certain rating OTB or another site doesn't mean you'll get that high here.
Hello,
When I signed up for an account, I was in a rush and misclicked and started my rating as 400.
I don't know my exact rating, but I am pretty sure it should be in the 1600-2000 range.
I haven't played any rated games yet. Is there any way to fix these things?
It seems like the provisional ratings on chess.com should get me to my proper level sooner rather than later, but still, I'd like to get as few mismatches as possible.
One relatively simple option is just starting a new account with the right rating. But I'd like to keep this name if possible.
Thanks!
