mockery and unpolite Bots

Interesting post.
One viable option: a checkbox that dis/allows the bots' specific "personality" to be active. To me, chess is a very dignified game and I don't see the sense in bots making comments that would probably get a human player penalized.

We have truly failed as a society when a bloody AI comment about your skill level not being good on a chess site triggers you enough to actually make a post on it, and then other people calling the bots comments sexist.
Our ancestors are turning in their graves.
i under stand in these days, of tension with world events, cov-19,sick kids, sick grandparents the economy and a host of others things--- how such a little thing as a bot trying inject levity in our play win or lose games- would affect people like they just got invaded by a foreign government and have to flee- or had maybe their critical operation put on hold by lack of hospital staff - or maybe rapid rising inflation causing very little less happiness under the xmas tree -i do understand - just try for a moment though think , to some a bot calling me his little sister after i lose is kind of funny - me a over the hill not so well old guy trying to play a game where he is out of his limited depth- a some what lightened comment brings things up like that -------- give it to me every time bot -- and next time call me sally or doris or katie - when you make fun of my play
RE: #9 - It's not an AI comment, though. Human beings programmed the bots' banter - if there's sexism or derision in their comments, it's coming from the people creating the chatter. It's probably unconscious and unintentional - they're obvs trying to create banter that feels somewhat like real chat - but it's worth considering the impact that even subtle insults have in bot-play and how that may translate to or even encourage insulting behavior in live game chat.

Chat is seldom used in real livegames. If I got some of the things the bots say to me, said in live games, I would report the offending player.
I don't really mind it, but it is a bit odd when the bot forgets what side they're playing on. Like I capture their queen and they talk about how they captured my queen. If it bothers you so much about the bots, you can turn the chat off. Chess.com is a place to play and improve your chess game. Some people get motivated by mean comments like they want revenge. Other people get demoralized.

Your response is what I'm lamenting about. this isn't an issue.
